Virtual Blood Drive

With the close of January comes the end of #NationalBloodDonorMonth, but as you may well know, the need for blood is constant. As I write, this vital resource is critically low across the country, putting thousands at risk- from survivors of severe physical trauma to folks needing surgery, from pregnant mothers preparing to deliver to cancer patients undergoing treatment. And so many more… This need continues to grow in the wake of the massive storm system that just swept through a huge swath of the county, and as people across the country are violently targeted while speaking out against the inhumane and unjust actions of our federal government. If you are heartbroken, angry, and motivated to alchemize these feelings into action, consider giving blood- each individual donation has the opportunity to save up to three lives. In an effort to raise awareness around this shortage and advocate for continued giving beyond January, I will be hosting a Virtual Blood Drive. While I am officially doing this on behalf of @vitalant my hope is that anyone eligible to donate will see this call to action and take the time to #giveblood at their nearest donation center or drive. This Virtual Drive will be active the whole month of February. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for giving the greatest gift of all- the gift of life ♥️
