Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers, I’m reaching out to you during a challenging time for my mom, who is unfortunately battling cancer again. After a previous battle with Lymphoma, she has now been unexpectedly faced with developing Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) as a result of her previous chemotherapy treatments. Right now, she is undergoing a new intensive chemotherapy for the AML. One critical part of her care involves frequent blood and platelet transfusions, and there is an ongoing shortage of platelets. My mom has always been a source of love and inspiration in our lives. She is truly the most selfless, caring, and kind person I've ever known. She’s the one who’s lifted others up in their dark moments, and now she needs our help. If you’re feeling up to it, I invite you to consider donating platelets or whole blood. It’s a simple process that can make a huge difference for my mom and others in need. Donating platelets takes about 2 hours, while whole blood donation takes around 20-45 minutes (depending on the intake time). Thank you so much for considering this.
