About My Virtual Blood Drive
The Columbine Day of Service is an annual event held around April 20th where students, staff, and community members honor the lives lost in the 1999 tragedy through acts of service, kindness, and gratitude. We’re proud to be part of this meaningful day of giving back.
The USA is experiencing a severe blood shortage in early 2026, with the Red Cross reporting a 35% drop in inventory due to a "perfect storm" of extreme winter weather canceling over 400 blood drives, high seasonal flu rates, and a long-term decline in donor participation.
It is this reason that The Rebels Project, Dutch Creek Elementary School, and Vitalent are co-hosting a blood drive for the 10th annual Columbine High School Day of Service on Monday, April 20, 2026.
