About My Virtual Blood Drive

Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder that impacts your body's ability to produce hemoglobin and form normal red blood cells. This can lead to severe fatigue and many Thalassemia patients require regular blood transfusions to live a healthy life. Thalassemia patients need blood transfusions as often as every three or four weeks, and they would not be here without the incredible support of volunteer blood donors. Thalassemia is extremely rare, but three "Thal Pals" Brooke, Ary and Janelle luckily found each other in Colorado, and have found so much strength, understanding and support in one another. They are hosting their annual Care Walk for a cure this May, but wanted to include a Virtual Blood Drive with their event to encourage donors to give blood in support of Thalassemia patients around the world. Please give blood if you are able, and help spread the word to your friends and families! There is no substitute for blood and one donation can save up to three lives.
