Virtual Blood Drive

This year the West Memphis Project Site is collaborating with Vitalant (formally LifeBlood) for their Sickle Cell Awareness Blood Drive and we need your help reaching our goal of 72 donors. We are currently at 31 donors registered but I know that we can reach 72 with your help! Why Sickle Cell Awareness Blood Drive? The need for blood donations remains critical. A blood transfusion is needed every two seconds in the U.S., and the Memphis region does not currently collect enough blood locally to meet hospital demand. In fact, approximately one out of every four units used in our area must be imported from other regions. Blood donations are especially important for individuals living with sickle cell disease, many of whom rely on regular transfusions as part of their treatment. If you have already registered, thank you! Please encourage your coworkers and peers to sign up as well. Every donation helps strengthen the local blood supply and supports patients in need. As an added thank you: • Everyone who attempts to donate and those who successfully donate will receive a nice giveaway as well as be entered to win an additional prize. • Donors will also receive a lunch ticket to enjoy a free meal from one of the food trucks on-site.
