Virtual Blood Drive

For over a decade I've worked in emergency medicine as a Navy Hospital Corpsman, paramedic, and EMS educator. I've cared for trauma patients, critically ill children and adults, surgical patients, and countless people whose lives depended on resources being available before they ever reached the hospital. One thing I've learned is that blood cannot be manufactured when an emergency happens. It has to already be on the shelf because someone took an hour out of their day to donate. That's why I created Lubbock Lifeline. This isn't just about collecting donations—it's about building a community that looks out for one another before a crisis ever occurs. Every unit donated may help a trauma victim, a child battling cancer, a mother experiencing a life-threatening delivery, or someone undergoing major surgery. We'll probably never know their names, but they'll know someone cared enough to help. As I begin my journey toward becoming a physician, I want to continue serving my community outside the ambulance. My hope is that Lubbock Lifeline becomes more than a single campaign. I hope it becomes a reminder that every one of us has the ability to save a life.
