Virtual Blood Drive

On November 1, 2025, my water unexpectedly broke at just 31 weeks pregnant. I spent 6 days in the hospital fighting to stay pregnant and allow my sweet boy as much time as possible to grow and develop. Unfortunately, around midnight on November 7th, I became septic and needed to be rushed into an emergency c-section. My husband and I were so nervous but were assured we were in good hands and everything would be okay. Right after my son was successfully delivered, I started hemorrhaging and lost consciousness. What started as an emergency c-section quickly became the fight of my life. I was in surgery for over 9 hours and had 18 units of blood. I had what is called a Mass Blood Transfusion and it's only because of donors that I'm alive today. I spent some time in the ICU on a ventilator. When I woke up, seeing my husband, my new son, and my older kids, I had a whole new appreciation for blood donation. I am alive and well and get to continue to be a mom and wife because of other people's selfless acts of donation. I am forever grateful.
