About My Virtual Blood Drive

When I was younger, I was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder called Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP). This is a autoimmune disorder where your immune system destroys platelet counts and increases bleeding risks. This was hard on my parents and created various challenges that I needed to overcome throughout my childhood. I have now been diagnosed with Chronic ITP. This means I have random flare ups and need to get checked biannually to monitor my levels to make sure I am not at risk. The reason I want to host a blood drive is to help those struggling with blood disorders. As well as making others aware of how they can help. Every donation helps save lives. Your support also helps me earn scholarship funding through this organization. This will help me attend Grand Canyon University where I will be working to get a degree in the medical field.
