Virtual Blood Drive

Josef Breslin, taken too soon on January 6, 2022, was an amazing person and the best son, brother and friend any of us could imagine. And I am sure his wife Altaira would say he was the best husband imaginable. Additionally, I know that his employer, Vitalant, and Joe's co-workers, would agree he was an incredible employee, completely devoted to this company's life-saving efforts. We were all so very fortunate to have had Joe in our lives! However, this commentary needs to be focused on how passionate Joe was about donating whole blood, platelets, etc. to Vitalant. He felt it was the greatest, most selfless gift any of us can give others. Working within established parameters, Josef donated whenever permitted. He also encouraged others to donate, including me, his Mom. Won't you please donate? As often as possible? Make it a regular practice. And like Joe (and me), experience the joy that comes when Vitalant sends you that text or email stating that your gift is on its way to helping someone in need. Eileen Breslin
